Hello, my name is Josh.

Gornergrat Ridge in Switzerland, July 2014

I am a 15 year old from Austin, Texas. I love the outdoors, where I can go hiking, mountain biking, running, and skiing.

I also enjoy traveling very much, because it offers me perspectives on different ways of life and allows me to meet people who live very different lives from my own. There is something unexplainable that just makes me love the amazing differences and diversity of humans all over the world. I’m excited to pursue two exciting immersion programs over the next year. This summer, I studied Persian in Tajikistan with the U.S. State Department’s National Language Security Initiative for Youth program. And for my 10th grade year, I am currently my school’s representative for an exchange program in Osaka, Japan.

I first became interested in politics during the 2020 election cycle, when I was obsessed with looking at all of the maps and predictions for the election to come, and I also became very interested in the laws and policies that decide how we live. Specifically, I am fascinated by city planning and public transportation, as well as airports. I have always loved planes and airports, but until recently I never knew how much it took to run the industry. I love learning about complex things, such as how airports are run.

Recently, I have also developed an interest in foreign policy, and currently, my dream job is to go into the foreign service.

The purpose of this website is to compile all of my writing into one place, and to give me a place where I can put my future writing.

My family’s annual holiday cards feature me running in various places around the world. Everyone looks forward to receiving our card to see where I’ve run that year.

I’ve flown over 387,000 miles, which is the equivalent of 15 times around the earth! Here are some highlights from my international travels.
